Entity Types We Prepare For

Not Sure Which Form Your Business Needs? Start Here.

Every business entity files a different tax return. Here's a plain-English look at what each one involves.

S-Corporation

Files Form 1120-S. Income passes through to shareholders via K-1s. Reasonable officer compensation must be run through payroll.

C-Corporation

Files Form 1120. The corporation pays tax directly on its own income, separate from its owners.

Partnership

Files Form 1065. Income and losses pass through to each partner via K-1s, based on the partnership agreement.

LLC (Single or Multi-Member)

Taxed based on how you've elected to be treated: a sole proprietorship, partnership, or S-corp. We help confirm which applies to you.

Tax Planning Add-On

Want Ongoing Planning, Not Just an Annual Return?

Tax preparation looks back at the year that already happened. Tax planning looks ahead, so decisions get made while there's still time to act on them, not after the year is already closed.

  • Quarterly estimated tax check-ins, so payments stay on track
  • An entity structure review, confirming you're still set up the right way as your business grows
  • A year-end planning conversation before December 31, while decisions can still be made
  • A place to ask "should I do this?" before you do it, not after it's already on last year's return

Tax Planning Add-On

Starting at

$200 / quarter

Can be added to any tax preparation engagement. Final pricing depends on your entity type and how involved you'd like the planning conversations to be.

FAQ

Common Questions About Business Tax Preparation

What business entities do you prepare returns for?

We prepare returns for S-corporations, C-corporations, partnerships, and single- or multi-member LLCs. If you're not sure which applies to your business, that's a completely normal question to bring to your free consultation.

How much does business tax preparation cost?

Fixed fees start at $450 for a simple single-member LLC and increase based on entity type, number of owners, and complexity. You'll always know your fee before any work begins.

What if my books aren't ready or organized?

That's common, and it's fine. We can point you toward what's needed, and if your books need cleanup work first, we also offer bookkeeping support that can get things in order before your return is prepared.

Do you also provide tax planning, or just preparation?

Both. Tax preparation covers your annual return. Tax planning is available separately as an add-on, quarterly estimated tax check-ins, an entity structure review, and a year-end planning conversation before December 31, so decisions get made while there's still time to act on them.

What if I need more time to file?

We're glad to file an extension on your behalf. An extension gives you more time to file, though any tax owed is still due by the original deadline, and we'll help you estimate that amount.

How does the process work, start to finish?

We start with a free consultation, send you a document checklist, prepare your return, review it carefully, and file once you've had a chance to review and approve it. Most returns take about 1 to 2 weeks once we have your complete documents.

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

No. Tax preparation is engaged on a per-return basis. There's no ongoing contract required, though many clients choose to return year after year once they know what to expect.
